### **Privacy Policy for [Clarity Guard]**

**Effective Date:** December 16, 2025

**1. Introduction**

Welcome to Clarity Guard ("we," "us," "our"). Your privacy is of paramount importance to us. Our application is designed to help you minimize digital distractions and improve focus during work, school, or study sessions. This Privacy Policy outlines how we utilize permissions and protect your data when you use our mobile application,Clarity Guard.

Our core principle is user trust. We do not see, collect, store, or share any of your personal data, except as required by our third-party advertising and analytics partners, as detailed below. All core functionality of the app operates exclusively on your device.

**2. Permissions and Their Purpose**

To ensure full functionality, our app requires the following permissions. Each permission is used for a specific purpose to enhance your productivity and user experience.

* **2.1. Accessibility Service (BIND_ACCESSIBILITY_SERVICE)**

    This permission is fundamental to the app's core functionality. It is essential for three key features designed to help you focus:

    * **App Blocker:** To block distracting applications (e.g., social media) during your designated focus sessions.

    * **Keyword Blocker:** The Accessibility Service is used solely to read the URL in your browser's address bar. This is necessary to check if the URL contains any keywords from your user-defined blocklist. The service does not read, access, or collect any other text, passwords, or personal data from any other part of the screen.

    * **Focus Lock:** To ensure you remain within the app during a timed session by preventing navigation to other applications.

    **Our Privacy Guarantee:** We do not see, collect, or store any of your personal data or on-screen content. This service is used **exclusively** to identify the application or URL to be blocked based on your settings. All processing and user-defined data (such as keywords and blocklists) remain confined within the app on your device.

* **2.2. Query All Packages (QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES)**

    This permission is required to display a comprehensive list of all applications installed on your device, enabling you to easily select which apps you wish to block.

* **2.3. Exact Alarm (SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM)**

    This is essential for the precise execution of your scheduled blocking sessions (e.g., 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM). This permission allows us to start and stop blocking functionality at the exact times you define.

* **2.4. Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS)**

    Used to send you important service-related alerts, such as notifications when a blocking session starts or ends, or warnings when an attempt is made to open a blocked application.

* **2.5. Run at Startup (RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED)**

    Ensures that our blocking service and your pre-defined schedules are automatically re-activated after your device is restarted or rebooted, providing uninterrupted service.

* **2.6. Ignore Battery Optimization (REQUEST_IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS)**

    To ensure our app's core features—particularly the Accessibility Service and scheduled blocking (Exact Alarm)—run reliably in the background, we request this permission. Modern Android systems often stop background apps to save battery, which can prevent your focus sessions from working correctly. Granting this permission ("Allow" or "Don't Optimize") allows [Your App Name] to operate without interruption as you intend.

* **2.7. Network Access (INTERNET & ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE)**

    These permissions are used for two primary purposes:

    1.  **Advertising:** To display advertisements via Google AdMob, which supports the continued free availability of the app.

    2.  **Performance Analytics:** To collect anonymous, non-personal data for performance analysis and crash reporting (via Firebase Crashlytics) to help us improve app stability and functionality.

* **2.8. Advertising ID (com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID)**

    The Meta Audience service may use your device's Advertising ID to serve more relevant advertisements. This is an anonymous identifier that you can reset or delete through your device's settings.

**3. Third-Party Services**

We utilize the following third-party services for app functionality and monetization:

* ***Meta Audience Network:** For serving advertisements.

* **Google Analytics for Firebase & Firebase Crashlytics:** For analyzing app usage and crash reports to improve our service.

These providers may collect data according to their own privacy policies. We strongly encourage you to review their policies to understand how they handle data.

**4. Data Security**

All data required for the app's functionality, such as your blocklists, schedules, and usage statistics, is stored locally on your device only. We take reasonable measures to protect this locally stored information, and it is never transmitted to us or any other third party.

**5. Children's Privacy**

Our service is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personally identifiable information from children under 13.

**6. Changes to This Policy**

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page with an updated "Effective Date."
